Why is it hard to drive at night in the rain?
Pooling water tends to turn rough surfaces into smooth ones, and diffuse reflection into specular reflection. Driving at night on a wet road is made even more difficult by an additional consequence of specular reflection. These do increase road visibility; however, they don’t affect the extra oncoming-car glare.
Why is it difficult to see the roads in front of you when driving on a rainy night?
Answer: Because when the road is dry the light from your headlamps reflects off of it. When the road is wet, the light is absorbed in the reflection so you cannot see it as well. Take that same light and shine it on the shore, it lights up the dry ground, or reflects off the ground.
Why does my car not start when it rains?
Spark Plug. The most common reason for a car not starting in the rain is found in the spark plugs. Wire insulation can wear thin and this causes the voltage to arc to the metal of the car engine rather then going into the spark plug.
Do you have to have rain guards on your car?
If you don’t have rain guards installed on your car or truck and don’t want to get soaked, you have no choice but to put the windows up and turn on the A/C – cooped up by the whim of the weather. But with rain guards fitted to your doors, you can defy the weather and leave the windows down enough to stay dry and still enjoy the fresh air.
