Can a Mercedes E Class rear suspension be replaced?
If the air cushion is faulty, its not a nice job to replace as the whole rear suspension/axle/subframe has to be dropped as the new air cushion comes complete with a resevoir tank & pipework that feed over the top of the rear subframe. Its not the best of jobs to do & my guess is the dealer knows this & can’t face replacing it !

1. check for air leaks on pipes, unions, and air bags (self explanatory) and 2. Check the level sensor moving parts. The rod connecting the sensor to the chassis had broken on mine so I ordered a new 1 off eBay for 20 quid, fitted it myself in about an hour and saved a small fortune ☺
