Where is the fuel filter on a Quadra Jet?
This car has a quadra jet carb from the factory and the fuel filter can be found by locating the fuel line going into the carb. Remove the fuel line, and there is a larger hex nut on the carb the line went in. Simply remove the nut and the filter is right inside the carb. Thanks!
Where is the fuel filter located in a car?
The where fuel filter is located in your car and the cost of fuel filter replacement. No matter the type of engine you have (traditional or diesel), all vehicles have fuel filters that cleans the oil before it reaches to the engine.
How do you get the fuel filter out of the bracket?
Slide the fuel filter out of its bracket. The fuel filter is likely held in place by a metal bracket that wraps around its outer housing. With the fuel lines disconnected, you can slide the fuel filter out of the bracket by pushing it toward the front of the car.
How big is the fuel filter in a diesel truck?
The fuel filters in diesel cars and trucks are usually much larger, and the whole fuel system is much more complex. Diesel engine fuel systems are also under a lot more pressure, with modern common rail systems producing over 1000 bar of pressure. Accidentally releasing such high pressure could result in injury. Locate your vehicle’s fuse box.

Where does the fuel line hook up to the filter?
Eventually, the feed line hooks up to the fuel filter. Both the fuel feed and return lines follow the frame connector, then loop over the top of the passenger-side frame connector to join the inner side of the rear subframe.
How to troubleshoot no fuel going to a carburetor?
Remove and check all fuel filters located in the fuel line and in the carburetor. Replace any and all filters that can not be confirmed good or have not been changed recently. Inspect the fuel lines for leaks or kinks that might interfere with fuel flow.
Where does the fuel go after it goes to the CARB?
After the fuel goes to the carb, it returns to the bypass valve, which hooks up to the -8 bulkhead return line fitting under the battery tray (again, this isn’t complete because there is no engine in the car). Fair enough, but this is where the routing differs from the norm.

What’s the best way to route a fuel line?
You have to start somewhere when routing fuel lines. Beginning with a fuel filter is a good idea. Here you can see how the filter was spaced down to fit the irregular shape of the floor pan. The idea is to set it up so that you can access each end of the assembly. (Image/Wayne Scraba)

Where does the OEM fuel line run on a car?
The OEM fuel line runs on the inside of the frame rail at this point. That means it is positioned adjacent to passenger-side header. Obviously, that tends to bake the fuel. In the past, we’ve had modified cars that actually boiled the fuel due to the line location. The result is vapor lock.
How do you remove fuel lines from a fuel filter?
Remove the fuel lines from the filter. With the clips removed, slide the fuel lines away from the filter to pop them off of the nozzles on either end. Make sure to tip the fuel lines toward the bowl or bucket in place as you remove them to catch any spilled gasoline.
What to do if your fuel filter does not match?
If the fuel filters do not match, you will need to return the new one for the correct replacement filter. Do not attempt to use a fuel filter for a different application in your vehicle, as it may not be capable of allowing the appropriate volume of fuel to pass through it. Slide the new fuel filter into the bracket.
The most common location for modern vehicles is along the fuel line on the bottom of the car, just past the fuel pump. In some vehicles, the fuel filter is located in the engine bay on the line that leads to the fuel rail.
