Why does my Mercedes 220cdi not start or crank?
I recently got a 220cdi, was fine for a week but now it wont start or crank. At first I suspected the ecu to be at fault due to esp and abs warnings plus the engine fan running at full speed. I tested the ecu connections and found no voltage to the ecu at all. I then tested all the wiring and found continuity to all wires from the front sam unit.
What’s the problem with no start, no crank?
I fitted a new unit but the fault is still the same, no start, no crank and no power to the ecu. I have tested all the fuses including the alternator fuse and all the fuses in the front and rear pre fuse boxes. All are good with a 12v supply and 12v both sides.

Start the car and you should be able to get around 60 psi. When the engine is running and when you turn off the engine the pressure should stay steady. Always perform this test on a cold engine. Next, make sure that the fuel injector connections are secure and not loose. Check the fuel pump and the fuel pump relay.
