Why is DEF tank showing almost empty after oil change?
First oil change at 7,000 miles on a 2017 6.7 had dealer fill up DEF tank which was showing almost empty, showed full on gauge until 2 days later now it shows almost empty. Topped off DEF tank and it was full.

What makes the low Def warning light go off?
It can be anything in the DEF system and that light will go off. The ’12 T660 I’m in started this at 20K, and was low only one time. Finally it De-rated and got towed to the KW shop in Nashville. Turned out to be a sensor somewhere in the exhaust system.

What happens when Mercedes AdBlue runs out of Def?
If there was a warning system such as this countdown, most car owners would not top up DEF when it runs out. And this would increase emissions and pollution. First of all, check the AdBlue level and top it up if needed.

That reservoir’s fill cap is under the hood atop the left fender. According to the owner’s manual, a full DEF tank should last 6300 miles, but, as everyone knows by now, your mileage will vary.
Do you need special valve for Ad Blue Def fluid?
The bulk DEF bottles in 2.5 gallon and 1 gallon do not come with the special/trickseter valve the small bottles have to prevent overfills – overfills can be messy – towards a “top off” the system can burp back a bit from trapped air – slow fills can prevent this – you can also point the front of the car uphill a bit that also helps prevent burping.
