Is the Mercedes 280s W108 running on fresh fuel?
Napa was able to locate the correct belts. It now has a working alternator and running on fresh fuel from the tank. The ballast resistor for the coil opened up, but I jumped around it to get it running. You are in for a treat once you get the car sorted out. Keep pushing for correct parts and drive the car as often as practical.
Is the 1970 Mercedes 280 SE still running?
The car’s running consistency will improve with use if everything is setup properly. I have a 1970 280 SE that I drive every day. The belts are all installed, the alternator is charging. Still buffing and polishing the original paint. I can’t figure out all the switches in the dashboard.
What kind of manual do I need for 1973 Mercedes 280?
I ordered a Haynes manual yesterday. Hopefully it will give some insight on the belts. Haynes makes terrible manuals. Half the info in mine about the 1973 280 i have is wrong. Find mercedes manuals if possible. The Haynes manual is definitely not the best, but it was cheap on Rock Auto.
Is the Mercedes 280s W108 still a survivor?
I just picked up my first vintage Mercedes. Over all, I consider the car a survivor. It shows some rust, the paint still shines from a distance and it runs. My intention is to put antique plates on it and drive it occasionally. It will not be restored. I
