Why do I get an auxiliary battery error?
Anyone has experience or have seen this error message before? I wanted to understand what’s causing this malfunction and how to fix it? I’m guessing this auxiliary battery is a back up battery or some sort, but not entirely sure if I can still drive around with this malfunction or best to take the car into MB service ASAP!

Click to expand… Have dealer check VMI to see if there any outstanding Service Campaigns (i.e.: 2009110003, 2010030010) for your VIN, if so repair is free even out of warranty. No open campaigns, correct battery/correctly installed need to have someone pull fault codes using MB diagnostics, may be as simple as clearing stored codes.

Sometimes new batteries are bad out of the store because they sit too long and one of the cells go bad so you might have voltage but once you do a load test, it will show that it’s dead. The voltage of the aux. battery was 12.4 when I installed it. I do have a code scanner, no stored codes.
