What size relay do I need for headlights?
Your average high beam (for a normal headlight) is 55 or 65 watts. In a 12 V circuit, that’s less than 6 amps nominally. If you put in a 10 amp fuse, you should be ok.
What kind of wire do I need for a headlight relay?
Our kit includes separate relays for the high and low beams as well as upgraded GXL wire to make fresh connections to your lights. It’s available in both standard (pn/ 500403) and weatherproof (p/n 500431) form. Loading…
Which is the best light bulb for a headlight?
In fact, according to the manufacturer, the bulb provides so much bright light that it’s comparable to xenon. This halogen H7 bulb is a high-performance headlight bulb, meaning it provides super-bright light, ensuring maximum safety no matter the weather conditions.
What should the voltage be for HID headlights?
Always handle Xenon HID headlights with care. In the case of high-intensity discharge (HID) headlights, or Xenon headlights, there’s an additional component. To get the xenon and salts to plasma state, the HID generator bumps the voltage up to 30,000 V, then stabilizes around 90 V when the bulb is in operation.
What should I do if my headlight is not working?
Unplug the light, pull the switch, and see if the fuse blows. If not, the problem is not in the wiring. Make sure you have purchased the correct wattage of bulb. Ensure that you do not have a faulty or damaged bulb. Check and see if your high beam bulb is the issue. If so, replace it. Check all wired connections and look for any exposed wiring.

How do you know if a headlight wire is ground?
One should read 12 volts. This is the high beam power and this wire is not ground. If there are only two wires, the remaining wire is ground and you should turn off the ignition and headlights and go to the next section. If there are three or four wires, go to the next step.
How many volts does a low beam headlight need?
If there are three or four wires, go to the next step. Switch your headlights to low beam and check the remaining wires with the multimeter. Again, one should read 12 volts.
