Can a dirty ac coil affect heating?
A dirty coil can contaminate supply ducts and reintroduce contaminants to your home — including mold development and spores. In heating mode, obstructed airflow through the coil may cause your furnace to overheat and shutdown.
How much does it cost to have AC coils cleaned?
It’ll cost anywhere from $100 to $400 to clean your AC coils as a standalone service. For highest system efficiency, get this done every year and up to once per month. Condenser coil cleaning, the one located outside your home, happens during your annual AC tuneup for $75 to $200.
Is there a problem with my 454 engine?
I have asked a number of people and have been told that it is a motor home issue caused by the dog house engine cover and that the 454 was redesigned around that time to increase engine heat to increase millage. My question remains, is it just my 454 or have other people had the same problem?
Why does my 454 heater not work in my RV?
We spend a Whole Lot of Time crawling in under around and through that 454… mostly due to heat related issues. The 454 installed in motorhomes cannot disappate enough heat leading to overheating climbing grades, hot weather, hauling or just when it seemed like it wanted to! Cracked exhaust headers are way common due to this.

What do you put in the boot of a 454?
The splash shields on the right side of the motor have been removed I assume in an effort to let some of the engine heat escape. I have finally found a way to keep the heat from attacking the boot. I use the heavy duty boot, place it inside of the heat sock (used on race cars and such), and fill the heat sock with silicone designed for wood stoves.
What causes a Chevy 454 engine to overheat?
It was seen in the limited-edition 1990 Chevrolet SS pickup truck and the Suburban line. The 454 was built for peak performance, but overheating problems could occur with this engine. A clogged air filter or intake tube can severely reduce the amount of air that gets to the 454’s engine.
