But in reality, it is good practice to drain the fill, replace the transmission fluid filter, and refill with the proper transmission fluid every 50,000 miles. This article applies to the Mercedes-Benz C-Class w204 (2007-2014).

If its too high please drain off excess fluid by removing the drain bolt (you do not have to drain the whole transmission again). -Regarding the transmission pan- Please remove the forward bolts first then the middle bolts as this will remove the excess oil that is left behind in the transmission pan.

Top it off if needed but do not replace. If opening transmission for a reason keep some of your old oil. Filter it with a paper filter in order to remove any metal particles.
