Why are the parking lights on my car not working?
I have a 1999 E320. Right side (passenger side) parking lights weren’t working. Bulbs checked out ok. The fuse box on the side of the dash (where you need to open the driver’s door to get to it) kept blowing #7 fuse, which it turns out is a fuse for ONLY the RIGHT side parking lights.
Are there parking lights on only one side of the car?
No, this is a “parking light” feature to illuminate only one side of the car while you are parking (depending on the side you are parking) to alert other drivers that your vehicle is where it is. Its popular in Germany; I have used it when I was the first parked car after you turn a corner, for instance. Hmm…
Why do Mercedes side parking lights stay on?
I tend to think this feature is more for illumination purposes while unloading groceries or whatever you might be doing that requires some extra light at night.
Why are my left side marker lights not working?
A curious problem in my ’94 C280… Got the instrument cluster warning that I had a burnt out exterior light bulb. Checked it out and found that both my left side (front AND rear) marker lights were out. Checked the bulbs, and they were fine. Checked the fuse box, found that BOTH these bulbs are on one fuse.

How are the parking lights on a Mercedes Benz?
In newer Mercedes-Benz models, like mine above, the parking lights activate in a slightly different way; you must first turn the light switch to “P,” for “parking,” and then you can put on the turn signals to switch on whichever parking lights you want. But this feature still exists, it’s still standard, and, well, does anyone use it?
Where are the side marker lights on a car?
Side Marker Lights: Side marker lights serve a very similar function to the parking lights, but they are mounted on the side of the vehicle. They are located in front of the front wheel, or behind the rear wheel on the side of the body. Side marker lights may be attached to a bumper, fender, or rear quarter panel depending on the type of vehicle.
What’s the difference between parking lights and bumper lights?
A car may have parking lights, side marker lights, or fog lights mounted to the front bumper, but being in that location won’t magically turn all of those lights into “bumper lights”. On the rear of a car, one may have reverse lights, tail lights, or license plate lights mounted to the bumper, but those aren’t “bumper lights” either.
