How long does glow plug stay on Vito 115 W639?
Vito 115 W639 – Engine starts on the button and runs fine – glow plug light has started come back on and stay on for 1/2 a mile or so after the engine has started and I’m driving, it then goes off and stays off.
What are the warning lights on a Mercedes Vito?
On start up I had two warning lights, glowplug light on (always) and the EDC light on (always). The glow plugs have current for the heat up process and then there is no currnet to them after a couple of seconds so performing properly but the light remains on.
Why is the EDC light always on in my Vito?

Hi My Vito CDI 110 2000 has Shut off Fault Code, Boost Pressure Code. 7.5a ECU Fuse causes grey smoke rough running when inserted. Merc Star Can not communicate with the CDI. Van starts and runs ok without the 7.5a fuse but in limp mode. Help.

Can a Mercedes-Benz Vito CDI 110 start?
There is no way of priming the van and it is not self priming, as long as the diesel filter is full of fuel the van will start. Is the EDC light on ?. Is the battery good ?. Have you read the codes with a scanner? if so what are they. 1 x 190e, 2 x vito cdi 110 many spares…. still the vito wont start…..
Why does my Mercedes Benz Vito not start?
It turned out to be a broken wire to the injector. If the edc light is on then it will not start because it thinks there is a fault either with the wiring, air in the fuel, water in the fuel or lack of fuel pressure. Got my Vito back yesterday.

Hi ya and welcome, don’t get side tracked with the glow plug light it will not stop the van starting unless its well below freezing. Look at the clear fuel lines, are there air bubbles in them? There is no way of priming the van and it is not self priming, as long as the diesel filter is full of fuel the van will start.
