Can you raise or lower the rear seat headrest?
When I try to raise or lower my rear seat headrest on the 2002 convertible CLK430, the motor keeps running even if I let go of the button on the dash board. Any ideas? Have you checked the relay yet?
Why are the headrests on my Mercedes not going down?
At least on the s550, the headrest are design to go down with the button and up by hand. You do hear the noise of the mechanism realesing every time you press the button but they do not go up. They are spring loaded to go down. Hope this helps! The manual seems to indicate they the head rests should come up on their own.

In your tool kit theres a rod that must be placed down along side the rear passengers headrest and pushed down the headrest at the same time. This will free up the roll bar and release it. This might not be exact but it’s along those lines. Check your hand book. I hope it helps

How to fold back head restraint side bolsters?
When folding back the head restraint side bolsters, do not put your hands between the side bolster and the cushion holder. There is a danger of becoming trapped. push or pull right and/or lefthand side bolster 1 into the desired position. push or pull the head restraint in the direction of arrow 2.
