Why is my Mercedes-Benz trunk not closing completely?
My 08 ML320CDI is at the dealer having a new latch installed at this time. They first updated the software, which it needed, but that did not repair it so the new latch was recommended. Since this problem has been ongoing since I bought it new, the dealer is not charging for the part, only labor although I am out of warranty with 80K miles.
What’s the problem with the tailgate on my Mercedes 4Matic?
I have a 2006 R350 4Matic. Started having problems with tailgate – it’s not opening (can hear the motor working, hatch releases and then shuts/locks again). Was sporadic, now it’s not opening at all and I have to use the inside lever to manually open it.
How do you repair tailgate on Mercedes Benz?
One of the screws is under the trunk hatch, so you need to have that open and remove that screw. Pull hard and the plastic comes off. Move the rubber weatherstrip away (pull it out, it pushes back in later). Loosen both Torx screws holding the striker and push it as far forward as possible.
Why does my Mercedes Benz tailgate not close?
My gate didn’t open as high as it could, replaced struts and gate close button worked for a few days. Someone else pointed out that if you leave the gate open, like at the dog park it goes to sleep and doesn’t wake up when you hit the button. The hydraulic pack is under the black foam subfloor under the rear floor.
What should I do if my car trunk is not closing?
Do not just push the latch all the way forward. This can over tension the latch and prematurely wear out the striker, latch, and distort the weather seals. The correct approach is to do as above but with these additional steps. Move the latch forward only if there is improper tension on the seals.
Where is the hydraulic pack in a Mercedes Benz?
The hydraulic pack is under the black foam subfloor under the rear floor. You can carefully remove the hydraulic pump and hold it uprite to see if it has enough fluid in it. My current thought is that the rear hatch needs to be cleaned and lubed, witnessed by the fact that several of them are for sale on eBay.
