Why does my Chevy Silverado make a tapping noise?
Tapping noise is noticable when at stop light, when engine is turned on and when im parking. I notice the noise a few days oil change at goodyear. My truck has been with the GMC since 3/15/2011, and still they can’t find what is causing the noise.

Listen at the front of engine with a hose, then the valve cover to close in on the sound. Do it when the engine sat cold for 4hrs though. I really don’t think it’s anything to do with the lifters or valve train. And it’s not a normal DI sounds. It sounds like an accessory to me, most likely the vacuum pump.
