How do you put the headrest down in a Mercedes?

- To raise: pull the head restraint up.
- To lower: press release knob 1 in the direction of the arrow and push the head restraint down.
- To move forwards: pull the head restraint forwards.
- To move backwards: press and hold release knob 2.

Why are the headrests on my Mercedes not going down?
At least on the s550, the headrest are design to go down with the button and up by hand. You do hear the noise of the mechanism realesing every time you press the button but they do not go up. They are spring loaded to go down. Hope this helps! The manual seems to indicate they the head rests should come up on their own.
