What kind of battery charger do I need for my 2003 SL?
I picked up a CTEK 3300 for my 2003 SL and hooked it up today. I installed the set of battery cables that connect directly to the battery terminals. Very convenient when I want to disconnect and go. I just draped the cable out the back of the trunk lid to the right with the charger itself outside on the floor of the garage.

Both batteries are ‘linked’ right enough thru the alternator/battery management system. Eg if your starter battery is low enough that the door locks don’t open & you have to use the flat key then both batteries are used to start the car. Supposed to be to stop you being stranded.

Find a way to secure the switch pushed in. Use a screwdriver to lock the door latch. Manually press the door switch. Find a way to secure the switch pressed. Use a screwdriver to lock the door latch. If you have a fuse box in the trunk, open the trunk but place the latch in locked position. Make sure you have a fully charged battery.
