How long have I owned a Mazda 6 diesel?
I owned a 2010 Mazda6 diesel for 6 six years. I sold the car with 160000km. About 85% of these kilometers were open road. In that time the oil level never increased between changes. And as far as I know it never went through an active DPF regeneration. Fuel consumption was always a constant 6.0L/100km. I currently own a 2016 Mondeo diesel.

Oil level rises between services. Some is expected because of the DPF. – 32 000km car breaks down – oil warning light. Issue is very likely related to rising oil level. Car is towed to Mazda with no fault found – Oil level continues to rise so I do my own oil change at 37 000.
How much fuel does a Mazda 6 burn?
It has endless torque and is a little pocket rocket. It does though do its DPF burns evidenced by increased idle speed, very hot exhaust and hugely increased fuel consumption – eg at 60km/h it goes from 3.6 to 7.6 during the burn. It’s a bit self defeating, using up the very commodity you are trying to save with fuel efficiency.
