Does Mazda 6 diesel have DPF?

Does Mazda 6 diesel have DPF?

It does have a DPF but it also has a manifold in head engine which is more efficient and means the DPF can be more closely coupled to the cylinder head. No diesel has avoided being fitted with a DPF since January 2011.

Moved to Technical. A good long run should have resolved the problem: if the light isn’t still flashing you should be OK. Just do a run of at least 20 miles once a fortnight. Flashing DPF light used to mean take to garage, often caused by high oil level. Steady DPF light meant blocking filter.

Today for example we had a Mazda 6 2.2 dropped off for a DPF cleaning service, with the DPF light flashing and engine management light illuminated the customer already suspected he had DPF issues, however a quick diagnostic check and live data readings we confirmed this.

Why did my Mazda 6 go into limp mode?

Yet on Sunday, the light suddenly came on but flashing and the ‘check engine’ light also came on, and the car had gone into ‘limp mode’ (which means I have no turbo) so it has gone to the garage, where they say it needs an oil change, filter change and the DPF system regenerated (at a cost of £250+).

Is the Mazda 2.2 engine affected by DPF?

The Mazda 2.2 engine is affected by DPF issues – though it’s certainly better than the previous 2.0, which many owners feel was simply unfit for purpose. The DPF seems to go into self regenerate mode an awful lot, which injects extra fuel to raise the temp in the filter. It does this even if you’re on a fast motorway journey.

Is there a problem with the Mazda 6 DPF?

Yours has the same engine (albeit detuned to make it less powerful but lower emitting)… the true new engine is out soon and is the 2.2 litre with a totally new/improved DPF system. I’ve been told by the dealer that there is ‘no problem with the DPF on [my] car’ and therefore I have to pay for the oil & filter change and regen of the system.

Why is my Mazda DPF light coming back on?

That’s all. HOWEVER……if this light comes back on after a reset, get it checked by a mechanic because a fault can occur where the lubrication oil is flooded with diesel (from the DPF regeneration system). This will INCREASE the oil level in the engine and can be fatal to the engine.
