What should you do when parking uphill in a car?
Face your wheels away from the curb if you are parking uphill. Turn them facing towards the curb if you are parking downhill. Press your foot on the brake, put the car in neutral, and turn your steering wheel one full turn in the proper direction. This will keep the car from rolling out into traffic if the brakes fail.
Can you back out of an angled parking spot?
I can’t find a law that describes how to back out of an angled parking spot, but there are a couple of laws that address moving a stopped vehicle and backing up. The law states, “No person shall start a vehicle which is stopped, standing or parked unless and until such movement can be made with reasonable safety.”
