Why does my Miata squeal?
Probably a loose or worn belt – alternator/water pump belt or ac/power steering belt (if you have it). Look up how to tighten these belts, it’s straight forward and only takes a few minutes. If the car is new to you you might as well just replace the belts – also very straightforward.

Be certain to use new brake hardware (clips and springs) when replacing brake pads. Changing to a different brand or compound of pads may help.
