What causes water leak from back of engine?
Could be a leaky heater hose, or perhaps the heater core itself, meaning the pipes that poke through the firewall, into the engine bay You might even have to put the truck on jack stands, and look from underneath I concur w/the above post by db4690, more likely an intake manifold gasket than the head gasket.
Why do I call it a water leak?
I called it a water leak because after all the coolant leaked out i refilled it with just plain water to try to see where the leak is. The heater core hoses run across the top of the engine and connect to the heater core at the top of the firewall, i can see them and they aren`t leaking.
What causes a head gasket to leak in a car?
The engine runs great, ( has 135,000 miles on it) no loss of power or missing or hesitation so now i`m having second thoughts about it being a head gasket. my neighbor said that also, he said if the intake gasket is leaking the engine could be sucking water into the cylinders and that would cause white smoke (steam) from the tailpipe.
Where does the water come out of under the engine?
All are completely dry with no sign of water as you look down on the engine however as I say it comes out at the bottom. By the way it’s very hard to see exactly where from under there’s a lot of stuff in the way. Expert: Robert replied 7 years ago.
Where is the water leak from the back of the engine?
there s no room between the engine and the firewall to be able to look back there, what s the best way to determine where the leak is? The water is running down the right side of the transmission housing and running down the right exhaust header. checked the oil and there`s no water in it. shadowfax January 25, 2017, 7:05pm #2

Why is coolant leaking from Under my Car?
Seems to be an external leak because no coolant in oil, and no check engine light. I had been noticing coolant lowering every week or so, but not much. Now after this trip, the leak is much more pronounced. Not gushing, but enough to leave a puddle under the car. Are there any hoses or plugs under there?

How to fix leaking transom outboard mounting bolt?
Wouldn’t it be more professional to drill the holes slightly larger, 5200/4200M seal the hole and insert a bolt through hole stainless steel housing that is completely sealed. Then thread the bolts through that with a sealant.
Where is the coolant leak under the engine?
On the top of the engine, between the throttle body and the radiator cap, there’s a bracket with three bolts. You can loosen those, but obviously don’t completely remove them, and the right side of the motor will drop, giving you the clearance you need.
Where is the water pump under the engine?
It’s not that difficult, in fact it’s necessary to remove the water pump. On the top of the engine, between the throttle body and the radiator cap, there’s a bracket with three bolts. You can loosen those, but obviously don’t completely remove them, and the right side of the motor will drop, giving you the clearance you need.
Where is the coolant leaking from behind the engine?
Seems to be in the area between the 2 spark plugs on the drivers side. Seems to be an external leak because no coolant in oil, and no check engine light. I had been noticing coolant lowering every week or so, but not much. Now after this trip, the leak is much more pronounced.

What to do if water is leaking from under your car?
In case, if there is some doubt about what actually is leaking from your car, you can place a paper under that leak to identify the density and color of the liquid. If the color is clear, that means it is water otherwise it’s coolant.
