Why does my car make a thumping noise while driving?
If its not the tires while driving pay attention to witch side makes more noise when there is more weight on it. When on a left hand curve in the road there will be more weight on the right side and if it is the right wheel bearing the noise will become louder and vice-versa for the other side.
What should I do if I hear a thumping noise on my brakes?
Do this three to five times, while keeping a steady speed; the noise should disappear, or at least be 90% gone. Then drive the car at normal speeds and use the brakes the way you normally would. If the noise has not changed, you may have a different thumping noise than what I have described here in this article.
Why does my car make a noise when I open the window?
Whether you call it wind throb or buffeting or just plain annoying, it happens when someone in the car opens a single window at speed and it stops when a second window rolls down. The phenomenon that produces this noise is the Helmholtz Resonance, the same principle that makes a bottle hum when you blow over its open top.
Why does my 1975 Rolls Corniche make a thumping sound?
Very remote reach Jeremy but I had a similar situation on my 1975 Rolls Corniche that took 6 months to figure out. It turned out that one of the front wheel pistons was slightly seizing because of a constriction caused in one of the brake lines caused by heat. Braking and then stopping forced the piston to retract eliminating the noise.
Why does my front tire make a thumping sound?
– When making a left hand turn or a right hand turn at a slow turning speed, the thumping sound is very intense. – There are no foreign objects in the tires. My inclination is that the problem does not have to do with the tire, but has something to do with the front driver side brake since the sound immediately stops when applying the brakes.

Where does the thumping sound come from in my Murano?
I have started hearing faint thumping noise in my Murano, coming from the front most likely. It sounds as if I have a bold spot on a tire and is very faint. I can also feel it faintly through the steering wheel. It’s not a ticking or hard knocking noise.
