The cause was surprising: The left front height control shock had rusted through and broken loose. This shock design is unique to the LX470’s height control system: the vehicle pumps pressurized fluid into and out of the shock to raise or lower the vehicle.

My 2002 LX 470 was having problem of not able to adjust the control height to normal or high and just staying in the low position making the ride so bumpy. Read some articles about it and they mentioned about the height sensors to be the culprit. One sensor is too expensive that I decided to open and clean the inside first and see if it works.
