How can I tell if my Kia Sorento has vibration?
If I drag the brakes it stops., but the sound is not like old grinding brakes. Its very high pitch and like the tin backing plate is rubbing, but they are not. If you turn side to side it comes and goes. THe sould slows with the speed of the wheel. Sound like brakes, but the sound is diff.
Are there brake rotors on a Kia Sorento?
Sorento is a rear wheel drive vehicle. It is NOT brake rotors. Brake rotors do NOT technically warp but rather get a build up on them giving the pulsating effect when brakes are applied… I had it at 68-72, Kia replaced the rear end and it helped but it did come back.
Is there a problem with my Kia Sorento?
They told us that all Sorento’s do this after about 5,000 miles.Thier answer is grease it up, which doesn’t help either or replace the drive shaft knowing that it’s going to come back. Still working on what’s the next step. I had this problem with my 2004 and they at first said the had to make some kind of an adjustment. Well the noise came back!!
What kind of CV joints do Kia Sorentos have?
You’re Sorento should have U-joints, if it’s a 4×4 it also has CV joints on the front wheels. The rear wheels are driven by solid rear axle. 2006 was also the last year with the 3.5L Sigma engine, which I’ve never really cared much for. Where are you feeling this vibration most prodominantly in the steering wheel or the seat?

Are there any problems with the Kia Sorento?
Most of the problems are just annoying, but the crankshaft sensor problem is way too frequent…should have been a recall. Also, seat belt retraction springs are going bad. The build quality on the new models looks worse, so it will be a Honda, Nissan, or Toyota next time.
