How does parking brake adjustment work on Kia Rio?
For Drum Brake type, shoe clearance is automatically adjusted by the adjuster and adjusting lever. Re-setting of the parking brake is necessary after overhauling the caliper body, or if the brake calipers, housing, parking brake cable or brake discs have been changed.
What should the handbrake be on a Kia?
Good thing about this job is one you think the handbrake is about right on between 3-4 clicks jump back in the car and the rear cup/bottle holder in thecentrehas a carpet base you can lift to check the cables are even. Good luck with the nasty messy job and enjoy the smell of new pads in the box. euughh!
How do you adjust brake discs on a Kia?
Easy enough to adjust back once the assembly is all back together via the star wheel. Where is the dished insert on a Kia Rio?
However, on the Rio in the centre there is a dished insert in the centre, with no obvious way of how to get it out. The only other thing that looks like it does something is a small screw on the front of the hub. Any ideas on how to get into this? Hi M4.

Where are the pads on a Kia CRDi Rios?
You have probably noticed the rear disk has a large drum like centre. The bit I like about the crdi Rios is that they use disks/pads for the foot brake but they also use the drum and shoe method (enclosed behind the rear disk) for the hand brake. Makes replacement much easier and the hand brake much more effective.
