Why is the battery on my Kia not working?
Wife attempts to start car….it wouldn’t start, it happened to be the battery, new one from Kia £216 fitted , for the last few months the ISG hasn’t been working, well it did for a day after the car had been on a long run and I had suspected the battery. How old is the car Howard ?
Is there a way to recharge a Kia battery?
The only way to recharge the battery is to do a trickle charge for 10 hours which is stated in the manual. I am inclined to believe that this is a design/manufacturer fault and would like to see KIA change to batteries that self recharge.
Is the battery still up on my Kia Forte?
Had to zap the battery with 50 amps a few times to get the resistance up enough so it would start charging. Charged it up the rest of the way. Started it and all seems fine. I am back on the Harley today, so I will see tonight if the battery is still up. I am going to call Kia today and see what they have to say.

Some days my ISG doesn’t work others it works every stop. I have never charged the battery from an external source but I do not do many short trips.

Cynical hat on – Kia (and other manufacturers) would say that as it creates business for them. I couldn’t care less about stop/start, mine barely worked from new – not helped by the fact our Picanto does a lot of stop start journeys.
