How do I check for a draw my battery in my car?
Pull the negative off the battery. Put the test light between the post and the ground wire. If the light illuminates, you have a draw. Use the fuse pull method to find the draw; when the light goes out, you found the draw.
What kind of battery does a Kia Amanti have?
My sister owns a 2004 Kia Amanti. The battery will not hold a charge. The battery has been replaced several times. the alternator and regular and anything else that could drain the battery has been checked. All ground posts have been cleaned.
How often does a Kia battery go dead?
At first the battery would go dead every 3 to 5 days but now you have to start the car every day or it will die. They say there is a 7ohm drain on the battery that can’t be located. The latest suggestion is to replace the wiring in the driver’s side door. Any idea what would be causing this? Somebody needs to perform a PROPER parasitic draw test
How can I tell if my Kia battery is draining?
Agree this should be readily found by a parasitic draw test where an ammeter is imposed between a disconnected battery terminal and its battery post. Then remove fuses until the draw stops. If the door is suspected, start with fuses for all the functions controlled by the door control panel.
