Why does Eco mode work some times and other times does not?
Off the top of my head I remember engine temp, inside temp (ie if you are running the heater or air conditioner) and number of times it has activated ( so it does not turn on off over and over in rapid sequence like in a drive thru) are a couple of the things factored in.

Thanks! Its normal for the ECO light not to come on if the CEL is on. To prevent damage to the engine the ECO mode will not turn on. Did you plug in a scanner to find out what the code is?
