Is the AFL warning light on all the time?
The AFL warning light is now on all the time!! Both headlights still illuminate but don’t do the dance when they first come on. Hi beam operates ok too in both auto mode and manual mode. If you swap from LH to RH traffic then you do see the beam pattern alter.
Why does my service AFL lamp not work?
No announcement yet. Hi, apologies if this has been posted before (I couldn’t find anything similar). My ’59 Insignia has a message intermittently (although becoming more frequent) saying “Service AFL Lamp”. When the message appears the adaptive lighting doesn’t work, and I can’t use the full beam either.
How to tell if your car has an AFL malfunction?
Also get AFL malfunction and AFL service messages in the display between the rev and spedo. 1) Both headlights work. 3) Both the cornering (if that is the correct term) lights work. When the fault light is on the only thing that appears not to function is the beams do not rise up when you first put the lights on.
When does a Cadillac AFL light not work?
AFL will not operate when the transmission is in R (Reverse). AFL is not immediately operable after starting the vehicle; driving a short distance is required to calibrate the AFL. See Exterior Lamp Controls. The light beam pivots based on the steering wheel position and vehicle speed of at least 10 km/h (6 mph).

When to turn on Adaptive Forward Lighting ( AFL )?
To enable AFL, set the exterior lamp control to the AUTO position. Moving the control out of the AUTO position will deactivate the system. AFL will operate when the vehicle speed is greater than 3 km/h (2 mph). AFL will not operate when the transmission is in R (Reverse).
