How to choose the right finishes for your home?
What often gets a whole lot less attention are the finishes in our home that we have to look at every day, like our door knobs and hinges. And y’all, those things not only matter, they can make a huge impact in your home. That’s why there are so many to choose from, like matte black, satin nickel, aged bronze, polished nickel, etc.
What should I do before finishing my house?
The house must receive a thorough cleaning before the finishing is begun. If you haven’t already done so don’t forget to pick out your light fixtures. At this stage get all your finishing materials brought in. Baseboards can be nailed in place before carpets are installed. Raise them by placing a 3/8″ spacer underneath and then nail them in place.
When is the last thing to be installed in a house?
After the painting is done, cabinets installed, and all tile work is done, basically when all the sub trades are finished, carpets can be installed. The Carpet should be the very last thing that gets installed. You do not want any stains even before you have had chance to make the first one.
