Why does my Kia Sportage have no power?

I have a 99′ Sportage 2WD 4-cyl. Currently, after a series of other repairs, it has finally been narrowed to no power reaching the fuel injectors. My mechanic is saying that now he needs to figure out if it is a short or the computer. He has had my car disassembled for over a month, so now I want to see if I can do it myself. Please help.
