How does an EPB work on a car?
When the EPB feature is enabled, the electric brake module receives the instructions and the brakes are applied. There are separate electric motors on each brake and they activate at the same time, forcing the motor in the brakes to squeeze into the disc and halt the car’s movement.

When do you press the autohold button on a VW Passat?
Piece of piss. Not sure what the autohold thing is all about though. When you come to a stop (red light/traffic whatever) press the footbrake and when you stop completely press it a little harder, you should feel it “step” down a little bit. When the light turns green, drive off as normal. Handbrake button is not needed at all.
