Why do I get a code when I replace my engine?

Why did code not pop up after engine swap?
When that code did not pop up after the engine swap, they probably figured that the problem was solved with the engine swap. Had that code popped up while they still had the car in the shop after the engine swap, then it would have been something that they would pursue before turning the car back over to you.
