I have a 2001 Kia Sportage, It will not start. I replaced the ignition switch as other had a short in it and had to keep jiggling the key or lift up on it when trying to start my Kia. . Right before the switch totally quit working when doing this My starter made a slow noise like it was trying to engage.

I know that the back gate open dash light may not be on, but this seems to be weird in mine.
