Why does my truck have a Qt leak?

My truck is leaking a qt. every 3 weeks – month and although im fairly familar with engines I cant seem to pin point the leak. Originally the leak appeared to be coming from my rear main seal due to the collection of leaking oil where the bottom of my tranny and engine meet.

How can you tell if your rear main seal is leaking?

A rear main seal leak will cause oil to drip from the bottom of the bellhousing at the front of the transmission.  If you have drips coming from in front of the bellhousing, locate those leaks, stop them and clean the engine.
