Why are the turn signal and hazard lights not working?
The exterior signal lights don’t flash, the center console left and right arrows don’t flash and there is no clicking sound either. I’ve also noticed that when I press the Hazard button, the four way signal lights don’t flash and there is no clicking noise either. Could it be the turn signal switch? Help! Click to expand…
What are the symptoms of a bad turn signal Flasher?
1. Turn signals or hazards do not function. The most common symptom of a bad or failing turn signal / hazard flasher is hazards or turn signal lights that do not function. If the flasher breaks or has any internal issues it can cause the lights to malfunction, or not respond at all when the turn signal lever or hazard light button are pressed.
How is the hazard light on and off?
The hazard light switch is not a simple on/off switch. In the “on” position, a fused battery feed connects to left and right turn signal. In the “off” position, the left turn switch wire is connected to the left turn lamp and the right turn switch wire is connected to the right turn lamp, so there are 3 inputs and 2 outputs.
Why are the hazard lights not working on my Toyota?
The hazard lights don’t go through the turn signal switch, but they use the same flasher relay, so it’s highly unlikely that the turn signal switch is the culprit. Check the fuse and flasher. Check for voltage at the flasher with the hazard switch on.
Why do my hazard lights work, but not my turn signals?
Turn signals only work when the ignition is on; hazard lights work whether the ignition is on or not. The two systems have separate power supplies, so they have separate fuses. You may have a blown fuse. Different vehicles use different circuits, and it is not possible to accurately diagnose the fault with the small amount of information provided.

What does it mean when your turn signals stop working?
If your turn signals have stopped working, it’ll be doing one of these things: blinking rapidly, coming on without blinking, or nothing at all. The good news is that all of these symptoms point to two possible issues, a bad turn signal relay or a dead bulb.

Is the hazard switch on a Toyota blinker working?
Yes, the circuit for the blinkers does run through the hazard switch. I had my dash apart and had to replace the turn signal switch assembly but could not get the blinkers to work until I read this. Also verified in my Haynes manual that shows this as well.
Why are the turn signals on my Toyota not working?
I’ve searched at other people’s turn signal problems, but mine is a bit different in that the left and right turn signals don’t work when I try flipping the left hand stalk up or down. The exterior signal lights don’t flash, the center console left and right arrows don’t flash and there is no clicking sound either.
