Why is transfer case grinding on Jeep Grand Cherokee?
After transfer case was replaced the grinding was gone for about a week, then slowly came back. I am completely out of ideas. It does not happen every time, but most of the time. It’s as if some differential, transmission, transfer case is for that moment not having any lubrication in it.
Why does my Jeep Grand Cherokee have no traction?
I was driving in forward then reverse to make a path in the snow when I heard a loud “clunk”. My tires spun after that. The Jeep drives fine except that it is all over the place with no traction. Obviously, my 4 wheel drive is out.
Is the 247 transfer case on a Quadra Trac II?
I talked to the techs at the dealership today and learned a trick which I had not heard before. This only applies to the 247 Transfer case found in Quadra Drive and Quadra Trac II grand cherokees.
Why does my Jeep Grand Cherokee Grind when making a left turn?
It grinds horribly when making a slow left turn and continues to grind when turning left even at higher speeds but not as loud. It was up on a rack at an auto store when they showed me that when turning the wheel left it actually sticks during the turn and then jumps back to where it should be when it gets past that point in the turn.
How does Quadra Trac II work on front axle?
In respect to driving the front axle, Quadra Trac II and Quadra Drive work the same. The “secret” is the progressive coupling inside the T-case. This coupling is activated by a pump rotor and case assy. The pump rotor is driven by the front axle and the case by the rear axle.

Is the Jeep Grand Cherokee a transfer case?
Some of the 05 to 2010 Jeep grand Cherokee‘s had an issue with that particular part and it required reprogramming. If it’s not that, then it’s the transfer case. At this point it’s worth a shot.
Why is my Jeep Cherokee binding on you turns?
Or check the motor first..watch the gyrations when you turn the key to on..if it gyrates its the Tcase. Went through this myself. At first I replaced the Tcase motor which made no difference then I put new ABS sensors on all 4 corners and a rebuilt Tcase.
