Other: Zerex G-05 coolant, about 1.3 gallons lost during the procedure. Serpentine belt. Serpentine belt tensioner. Fan clutch. Alternator/decoupler. JB weld (for intercooler leaks). There are aftermarket alternatives available.
What’s the cheapest way to replace a timing belt?
Level One is the cheapest, if you are strapped for cash and just need to get the belt done there is no shame in doing just the belt, people have rolled the dice and held off on doing the belt and then later regretted it. Even a full Level Three service is cheaper than a broken or slipped belt.

What makes my Jeep Liberty CRD Jerk when I accelerate?
If I accelerate up an onramp with overdrive off and set the cruise at 65 or 70 MPH and wait 5 or 6 seconds before turning overdrive on I never get JERKING. Once in a while I get subtle jerking when running at 45 to 55 MPH in hilly terrain with cruise on and overdrive off.

Biodiesel is available here but only at 100% and I am not equiped to mix it at the moment so stay with regular diesel. I purchased my 06 Liberty Diesel New, and have had nothing but Problems with a Constant Jerking/Surge at 80Km – 120Km almost like an Engine Miss.

If you purchase a CRD, make sure you have a good mechanic/dealership. That will make all the difference in the world. Good Luck on your decision. Thanks for the replys, I may be getting my hopes up but it sounds like most of the bugs are getting worked out of the CRDs.
How do you tighten a serpentine belt on a car?
If your vehicle does not have an auto tensioner, insert a pry bar or piece of wood between the alternator and the engine. Run the belt over the alternator pulley, then use the bar to pry the alternator away from the engine and increase the tension on the belt. Tighten the bolts again as you apply tension.
What should I do if my car fan belt is leaking?
A little splash of water on the belt isn’t a big deal. However, if it is due to leaking motor oil, coolant, or other engine fluid, the issue is urgent. In this case, bring your vehicle to an expert right away. Just replacing the belt won’t do much good long term if you don’t take care of the leak.
What to do if your belt tensioner is not working?
Use a wrench to move the belt tensioner arm through its range of motion. What you want to see is that there is resistance to the movement that you apply. If you notice that there is no resistance at all, then the problem is in the tensioner spring.

Why does my air conditioner fan belt keep falling off?
In this way, the belt keeps your fan, air conditioning, power steering pump, water pump and alternator working. It also indirectly keeps your battery from dying as that is a role of the alternator. If your fan belt breaks or falls off, these components will eventually fail, potentially leading to much bigger issues.
