Why does my car run rough after a spark plug change?
It’s possible that a plug boot isn’t seated properly. You said you double checked, but boots can be tricky at times, giving you the impression they’re fully seated when they aren’t. Make sure you distinctly hear the metalic “click” of the boot connector mating with the plug terminal.
What should I put in my boot when I change the spark plug?
A very light smear of silicone dielectric grease inside the boot sometimes helps when seating boots. Why does my car shake when I change the spark plugs?
Shaking or vibration may be caused by many different things such as faulty spark plugs, poor fuel pressure or misfires.
What should the gap be on spark plugs?
You installed plugs that were gapped beyond the maximum recommendation. The first step would be to remove and gap the plugs, aiming for the low end of the recommended gap range. That way, the plugs will stay in spec longer as the gap increases with age. Make sure the new plugs are an exact cross-reference replacement for the original FoMoCo plugs.

What does flashing cel mean on spark plugs?
Flashing CEL can mean misfire, so check plug wires, etc, to make sure they are OK. You may need to read and then reset the codes after you check the plug gap and wires, and then see if that resolves all CEL issues. If these plug wires are 8 yrs old or so, I would go ahead and change them anyway. the_same_mountainbike July 5, 2016, 9:31pm #7
Can a corroded spark plug cause a misfire?

If you can diagnose it as a vacuum leak and correct that leak, then you can try leaving your NGK’s in to see how they behave.
What happens if a spark plug is left on for too long?
Spark plugs left in too long without being replaced can become fouled with carbon deposits, oil, or ash from the combustion process, reducing the amount of power that is produced when the plug ignites.
