Why is my AC only blowing through the defrost vent?

Why is the a / C not coming from the front vents?
The next day I Took to the shop asking them to check vaccum first, and that didnt seem to be the issue, after tests and inspection they tell me its either the in AC panel cluster itself ( part with the buttons on it. Which seems to be working fine, I see no problems, but idk) or it could be the A/C Control Computer.

If there is no power to the switch, then check the fuses and see if any of them are blown. The rear defroster has a blend door that opens and closes that is electronically. If the fuse is blown, either the switch has failed or the blend door motor has failed.

Air still coming through defrost, visually inspected lines going to hubs, look fine. The air coming through the defrost is AC if I put it on AC setting and not AC if I turn it to regular air. The factory vacuum check valve is very hard to get to. So i bypassed it. Now it is working like it should and ac comes out the dash vents. Also when turning on the truck and turning on the ac unit it takes about 30-45 seconds for the ac unit to start running. Also after turning off the ac u it and car I can here a cranking sound under neath the dashboard. Please help thnx What seems to make the problem better or worse?
