What causes a car to shake at 50 mph?
A toe-in or camber misadjustment can produce steering vibration in a speed range, and will also show uneven wear across the entire tread belt from inside to out. An out of round tire can be in balance on the wheel and still cause vibration. A warped rotor plate can cause front end shake.
Why does my Honda Accord shake at 40 mph?
A warped rotor plate can cause front end shake. To identify wheel balance or tread squirm, rotate the front tires straight back and see if the problem stays in the front. If it moves to the back, it’s a wheel/tire issue.
What causes a violent shake in the front end?
Sometimes it won’t vibrate at all.. but sometimes it will.. but it always does it at the exact same speed and gets worse in a curve.. When the tires were mounted they used a half a bag of balancing weight per tire… Seems like there is no bounce at all in the back as all the wobble is in the front and in the steering wheel..
When does the steering wheel wobble at 40 mph?
Around 30-40 mph the steering wheel shakes and the car wobbles, not horribly but enough. It goes away above 40 mph and below 30 mph. I know, that’s weird but it does.

What causes vibration when driving at 40 mph?
If you’ve been driving with this problem for a year and its suspension-caused, there should be some evidence of uneven tire wear, and the wear patten should help you locate the problem. If the tire is hopping or fluttering from imbalance, there should be significant visible wear on one part of the tread.
Why does my Jeep WK2 run at 1300 rpm?
I just had to adjust the way I drive it at certain times. It mainly did it going up hill or at around 40 mph at 1300 rpms. Just like the WK2 guys with the 3.6 engine. They are experiencing something similar with having to adjust the way they drive due to lack if power and not so good tuning.
How often does the steering wheel shake while driving?
The shaking is very inconsistent, though. Sometimes it hits 65 before it shakes, but other times its barely 60. I just had my tires balanced, and the shaking isn’t consistent. It’ll shake for a second or two, then stop, then shake, then stop and so on.
