Alot of us (including myself) find a used front cherokee driveshaft, rebuild it, and run it in the rear. It’s a cool perk because if you happen to mangle the rear shaft on the trail then you can remove the front and run it in the rear to get you off the trail and home.

What kind of drive shaft does a Jeep Cherokee have?
If you peek under there, you’ll see the front driveshaft has a short yoke and 3-joint driveshaft. So with the rear t-case output matching the front you are able to use the same shaft on either. This is a perk for cherokees but not so much for wranglers cuz they have a very small shaft in the rear and longer one up front.
