Where is the fuel rail sensor on a Duramax?
The sensor is mounted on the right fuel rail under the EGR Cooler. Using conventional wrenches and sockets, a tech needs to remove the EGR cooler and heat shield(s) to gain access to the sensor.
Where is the fuel rail pressure sensor located?
As for where it is located…in the valley of the block, to the driver’s side and a little forward of the cast turbo intake pipe (which is better to remove to get to the block…and a real pain).

Do you need a Crowfoot for a fuel rail pressure sensor?
Any info would be comforting. It’s pretty easy. But you do need a crowfoot to fit it for proper torque. Don’t worry about air. Just keep the area clean while installing it. If it is properly torqued you will not have any leaks. No residual pressure in the system.
What should I know about the fuel rail pressure sensor?
I’m just worried about leaks, residual pressure in the system, what’s the torque spec. for this little dude it any, will air get in the system, things like that. Any info would be comforting. It’s pretty easy.

Is there a sensor in the fuel line?
There is way to much info on the internet that dosent cover exactly what i am looking for. I don’t remember them having a rail pressure sensor but they should have a sensor in the fuel line just in front of the tank. I believe that you are right.
