What kind of noise does a Jeep Compass make?
We bought a 2018 Jeep Compass Limited all of 7,600 miles ago. So far our only real gripe is a repeating noise while driving. I can’t tell if the tranny is downshifting while on the flat or the 4 wheel drive is acting up. To me it sounds like a very deep grinding noise.

Transmission Problem? At certain speeds, 5 – 25 and around 40 if I back off the gas completely for a few seconds and then accelerate there is a notiecable “jerk” in the drive-line. Has any body else experienced this?

Why does my Jeep Patriot make a whining noise?
At cruising speed (60’s), my Pat runs at just around 2000 rpms. The video I saw, the jeep was up around 4000 rpms, that’s high even for an average acceleration. mine whines but I always assumed it was because of how the teeth are straight cut on the belt.
Why does my CVT make a whining noise?
Jeeps coming over the hill from California make this noise a lot, then go into limp mode. My dealer said it’s usually fixed by changing out the CVT fluid and filter. If it doesn’t fix the noise my CVT is making I will be sure to let you guys all know.
