How do you unlock the gas cap on a Jeep?

On a button controlled fuel door trigger, an electronic signal is sent through electrical wires to a solenoid that triggers the locking mechanism to “pop” open the fuel cell. This type of control system sends an electrical signal through a relay, to the fuse box, to the wire that is attached to the solenoid and then the solenoid itself.

Why does the gas cap light stay on in my Jeep Wrangler?
Well I went to lunch in my jeep (2015 jku) and the GASCAP light still came on. Do I need to clear a code or something or do I have a bad gas cap? I’ve never had this problem before. It should clear after a few run cycles. It won’t clear right away. Give it few crank and run sessions.
