How to check intake manifold flow valve in Jeep Patriot?
If you remove the actuator motor, you can check the runner valve shaft directly; it should be free but with a very small rotation. I replaced the actuator motor, but it did require a dealer reflash before the MIL would go off. I’m not sure if all actuator motors would require a reflash, but mine did.
What’s the code for the intake manifold runner?
My check engine light came on and I got a code P2004 – intake manifold runner control stuck open. I took it in to my local dealer to see what it would take to get it fixed.
Is the runner valve on my Jeep Patriot frozen?
Your runner valves may not be frozen; they have a very limited range of rotation, about 10 to 20 degrees at best. If you remove the actuator motor, you can check the runner valve shaft directly; it should be free but with a very small rotation.
How much does a new intake manifold cost?
Thanks in advance. A few members had posted similar problems. You can try removing and cleaning the intake valves, but they do sell new manifolds. There are a number of OEM Jeep/Mopar parts houses online, avg prices are in the $230-250 range.
