The Jeep is back from the tranny shop, and the mechanic said he can’t justify doing anything at this point, as the codes don’t tell him anything specific that is wrong with the tranny, and the filters, and fluid, which he did change, looked good. Also said there is nothing he can find wrong with the torque converter.

If your temperature gauge goes past the normal level or never gets to the normal level, replace your thermostat. Assuming the coolant is full, I’d take a look at the heater core & hoses. When the engine is up to temperature, both hoses should be roughly the same temperature.
