Put a pressure gauge on the system, pull the vacuum line of thr pressure regulator and & see what the total fuel pressure is. Should be 39 psi, 31 psi with the vacuum line attached to the regulator. r u using jeep factory parts or after market parts?? cam sensor… in the distributor. *Getting good spark, so Guessing it’s not the coil.

Is the 99 WJ 4.0 camshaft the same?
Since i cannot find a cam for a 99 WJ 4.0, are ALL 4.0L Camshafts the same? some places say yes, some places say no. Im thoroughly lost. Advance Auto Parts lists the same part number for a 99 XJ and 99 WJ for camshafts, so i would believe so… try dealer or Craigslist for a wreck. try dealer or Craigslist for a wreck.
Is the Jeep Cherokee XJ a good car?
The engines and automatic transmissions are solid, never have to really worry about them. More abused ones tend to rust in strange areas though (product of hard 4-wheeling in wet areas), the cooling systems are problematic, and a front end job after 15 years isn’t a bad idea. The front end is built sort of as the minimal about to get by.

New Parts Plugs,Wires, Distributor, Coil, Battery, Alternator, Fuel Pump, Crank Position Sensor, Idle Air Control Sensor, Air Exhaust Temp Sensor, Throttle Position Sensor. The only other things I can think of is junk auto-zone parts, Short on wiring harness, or computer.
