Where is the service 4WD switch on a Chevy Suburban?
If it doesnt engage, its the switch behind the panel in the dash that engages the 4WD. The switch is about $80 new and about 1 hour to install. it could also be a message to check oil levels in front ,rear axles and or transfercase thanks for the input everyone.
What to do about a Chevy Suburban 4WD Lite?
Check the C151 connector on the left fenderwell for possible poor connection. If DTC C0327 sets when making a shift into 4 HIGH only or during a slip event in auto 4WD, inspect the Transfer Case fluid for contamination. If fluid is contaminated remove the Transfer Case and inspect for mechanical concerns. TCCM Ground: G110.
Why are the lights on my Chevy Suburban not working?
It’s out of warranty, fluids are fine and on occasion all the lights on the 4X4 panel blink and pop. I would bet it’s a faulty switch as well.
Why is my Chevy Suburban not shifting 4WD?
This seems to be a somewhat common failure on some of the GM 4wd trucks. Typically the problem is that the Transfer Case Encoder Motor Position Sensor (Encoder motor is the motor that shifts the transfer case) is giving false position signals and causing the phantom 4wd shifting and also the Service 4wd message.
Is the 4WD selector light on in my Suburban?
Have had lots of rain here. Service 4 wheel drive message information center and sometimes the switch is disabled with no orange lights and disabling the control. 4wd selector switch lights work, and will switch from auto 4wd, 2wd, 4hi and 4lo but the 4wd does not engage.

Why does my Chevy Suburban go into 4WD?
The problem started by going into 4wd by itself. No, none of the buttons cause anything to happen. When I first turn the car switch on all the indicator lights come on and then immediately go out which tells me the indicator lights are working. Ok. Ok I work on these wonderful vehicles! The 4wd system was great from 00-02 with a few minor issues. (switches b2725) Then in 03 gm changes suppliers and a few things in the electronics and now nothing on them is good, at all.

Why are there no lights on my 4WD suburban?
Last week the message does not go away after restarting the car so I pull out the selector switch and resolder the joints then plug it back in to find that the “Service 4WD” message is gone but there are no lights at all. I press the buttons but nothing happens. I’m in 2WD.
